Choreography and performance: Angela Muñoz and Tatiana Mejía

Kunstquartier Bethanien, 2014 Berlin

Taking our interest in music concerts and its direct relationship with movement/dance and performing arts practices as the starting point of this process, this work observes the live music act as a spontaneous choreographic composition and altogether as collective ritual. Using our body memories to re-contextualize the movement in a dance performance, to look at it on its own and in silence in order to encounter new perspectives and meanings.
We aim to embody the relationship between performer and audience as moving bodies. In this way we are developing a movement language that explores the physicality and emotionality that takes place during a live music performance, more particularly in the pop and underground scene, where both parts enact and drive themselves into a sort of catharsis.
