I’M [NOT] A PARROT
Performance & Music: Tatiana Mejia
We use the word “exotic”, to label something that we cannot label. By calling it that way we stop confronting ourselves with it. We are comfortable. We move day by day in different ways and our movements are mostly automatic, creating without noticing new “necessities”.
In this solo I’m experimenting with different patterns inspired by automatic pedestrian gestures.
This performance is a part of an ongoing research originated in my relationship with normality and identity. I am experimenting with chanting, loops, rituals and visuals the concept of repetition, un-winding and transformation of systems.
